V/. Introduction:

         With the slogan, “Share the pain, dedicate our service”, our Social Affair Department, working as a sub-unit of Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopedics under the lead of the Director Board and the cooperation of other units and departments, has been established and gained certain achievements.

VI/. Functions: 

         Social Affair Department is in charge of organizing the Hospital’s public activities to support the patients and their families materially and mentally, aiding the faculties in the process of diagnosing and treating while improving the quality of broad healthcare at the Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopedic and taking part in developing social and physical programs in the community.

 

VII/. Goals: 

  1. Construct plans to enhance social movement in the Hospital, with the agreement from Director Board, and put them into actions.
  2. Patients service:
  • Support, instruct the procedure and process of diagnosing and treating.
  • Introducing and providing information, advice about treating options and other alternatives for the patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with medical workers from other departments to catch up and update with the patients’ physical and mental circumstances to provide suitable support and assistance.
  • Resolve any contradiction between the faculties and the patients (along with their families) whilst being treated at the Hospital.
  • Offer immediate protection and consolation for patients who suffer from brutality, domestic violence, serious injuries, and natural disaster to ensure their safety.
  • Prepare the patients with details about their rights and duties, benefits and policies regarding health insurance, social welfare.
  • Join forces with other departments to help the patients with decisions about switching hospitals and checking out.
  • Arrange works and tasks for organizations and volunteers that wish to help the Hospital.
  1. Information, Media, Education:
  • Take responsible for public announcement and provide information for the press according to the conduct given by the Director Board.
  • Establish and promote educational programs addressing the topic of health.
  • Work with other Departments’ specialist to publicize Government policies and sections in law related to the Hospital’s activities that may benefit both the patients and staff members.
  • Team up with other units to operate and promote code of behaviors, mail box to receive suggestions note, etc.
  • Partner up with the Labor Union, Youth Union to build cultural and sports events that is appropriate for the staff members, the patients and their families.
  • Create content, marketing reference about the Hospital that bring it closer to the community, shorten the distance between the doctors and the patients, intensify the relationship with the press and media, organizations and individuals, domestic and international through activities, programs, events, conference, and meetings.
  1. Arranging fundraiser events to help the patients and the Hospital:
  • Be the connection, the sources for individuals, organizations, and sponsors who wish to help the patients that cannot afford the Hospital’s fee.
  • Encourage organizations, individuals, and the community to contribute to the Hospital’s equipment and budgets in order to improve the facilities.
  • Aiding patients with poverty by helping them to access services, benefits programs, and welfare options.
  1. Assist medical worker in the treating procedure (provide information about the patients’ background), help them to resolve any disagreement that might happen with the patients.
  2. Orientate and provide students and citizens with medical knowledge. Provide medical workers with social skills.
  3. Organize teams of collaborators to work on social affair of the hospitals.
  4. Organize charitable events, social affairs by the Hospitals for the community.
  5. Work on other tasks given by the Director Board.
